Feixe de Cobertura (Beam)
1. Por analogia com um feixe de luz, um feixe de um satélite (beam) indica o fluxo unidirecional de ondas de rádio emitidas por uma antena e concentrada em uma direção particular. Um feixe é orientável (steerable) quando este pode ser redirecionado à direção de outra área de cobertura, por meio de ajustes mecânicos ou elétricos. A área geográfica resultante da intersecção de um feixe de satélite com a superfície da Terra corresponde ao contorno do feixe (footprint).
